By Inspector Gauld. I first asked Inspector Gauld when I went to see him in the afternoon whether the case would appear in the press and he explained that it would not. I did not next ask the Inspector if Mr. Badeley was in his office. I asked him that first. I then asked Inspector Gauld if he had seen me strike the Chinese. He said that as I had settled the ease
and that with the Chinese he could not discuss it. Inspector Gauld did not say that I might consult Mr. Badeley. Inspector Gauld did not say "please go away from the charge room". I am sure Inspector Gauld daid "take him away" to the constable. Inspector Gauld did not say "please see this gentleman out of
the charge room'
